The Grotto of Massabielle
The place where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. Beneath the rock of the grotto there was only muddy water, but it is said to have gradually become clear, pure water. This is the “Spring of Lourdes,” also known as the miraculous spring.
St. Peter's Basilica
The mother church of the Catholic Church, in Vatican City. The Jubilee begins when the Pope himself opens the “Holy Door” of this basilica, which enshrines the tomb of the first Pope of Rome.
